Entry Level Requirements: Skills and/or Experience

Minimum of 3 years of working experience in at least two of the following areas: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and/or building maintenance. Previous supervisory experience of other maintenance/facilities related positions preferred. Ability to communicate clearly, both in writing and in verbal communication.

Demonstrated basic computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word. High School or GED Diploma required, college degree preferred. NJ Driver’s license. Facilities Related Certifications and Licenses (within 90 days of hire)

Entry Level Requirements: Education/Certificate/License

High school graduate. Minimum of 3 years working experience in building maintenance and equipment maintenance. Must have excellent mechanical ability and knowledge of hand and power tools. Should have a valid New Jersey driver’s license.

Essential Duties:

1. Perform recurring preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on all equipment used in Packaging and

Assembly operation, includes but not limited to:

• Belts, shrink wrap machines, power wrap machines, pallet wrap machines.

• Forklifts and walk behinds.

• Dock plates, dock doors, and speed doors.

• Scales, compactor, compressor.

• Glue guns, heat sealers, and hot blowers.

2. Ensure compliance of all safety (OSHA), legal, and environmental requirements in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations and that all buildings are functionally safe.

3. Ensure that all assignments are completed correctly and efficiently.

4. Maintain records of production machines and maintenance tools/equipment service logs.

5. Maintain cooperative relations with Inroads staff and administrative personnel.

6. Create jigs and fixtures, adaptive and material handling equipment for participants as needed.

7. Repair and maintain production equipment (i.e. drill presses, etc.).

8. Manage and document emergency drills.

9. Attend and participate in all meetings required

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to lift, carry and/or move up to 40 lbs. Must be able to climb steps, balance, kneel, squat or crawl to complete his/her duties. Ability to have vision sufficient enough to inspect work products for quality purposes, identify pallet cartons per layer, and the number of layers per pallet.
