Inroads to Opportunities is looking for an energetic, compassionate, and bilingual Intake Counselor to join our team!
This is a dynamic role where no two days are the same. You'll work directly with individuals, families, guardians, schools, DVRS, support coordination agencies, and our internal teams to help connect people with the programs, services, and opportunities that are right for them.
BILINGUAL REQUIRED
English/Spanish fluency is required for this position.
Your ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish will allow you to build stronger relationships with the individuals, families, and community partners we serve.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Be the First Step in Someone's Inroads Journey
As an Intake Counselor, you'll help individuals and families navigate the admissions process and connect them with the services that can help them thrive.
You'll:
Welcome prospective participants and families and provide informative, engaging tours of our facility.
Coordinate and complete the intake process for individuals referred to Inroads programs.
Work closely with individuals, guardians, internal staff, DVRS, support coordination agencies, school systems, and other referral partners.
Develop internal service plans and ensure appropriate funding streams are identified.
Maintain a strong working knowledge of Inroads programs and services.
Collaborate with Directors and the Vocational Evaluator to help maintain a steady stream of intakes.
Review NJISP and Service Detail Reports for DDD-funded individuals.
Track and report on intake activity, referral sources, services provided, and emerging trends.
Help Participants Discover Their Potential
You'll also carry an Extended Employment caseload, providing individualized counseling and support designed to help participants identify their strengths, interests, skills, abilities, and vocational goals.
You'll:
Provide individual counseling focused on realistic and meaningful vocational objectives.
Help participants connect their interests, abilities, skills, and goals to employment and vocational opportunities.
Develop and maintain written goal plans.
Monitor participant progress and maintain accurate, up-to-date case records.
Prepare reports and statistical information for sponsoring agencies and the Director of Vocational Services.
Review psychological, social, and vocational information as part of the participant evaluation process.
Observe and interpret participant performance and work behaviors.
Present participant cases and recommendations during staff meetings.
Collaborate with the vocational team and participate in regular staff meetings.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field.
Master's degree may be required for certain duties.
Fluent in English and Spanish – REQUIRED.
Valid New Jersey Driver's License.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, families, guardians, and community partners.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and accurate electronic records.

Pay Rate: $23.36 - $24/hr
