Inroads Transition Graduation Ceremony 2023

Wednesday June 15th, Inroads to Opportunities celebrated our graduating students from our school to work transition program. This year marked our largest graduating class with 16 graduates. Inroads multi purpose room was filled with family, friends, staff and dignitaries from our greater community to celebrate this extraordinary accomplishment in these young people's lives.

Guests included The Honorable Mayor of Roselle, Donald Shaw, Councilwoman of Roselle, Denise Wilkerson, Special Education Teacher, David M. Charles from the Newark school system, Union County Commissioner Chairman, Sergio Granados, and Honorable Mayor of Elizabeth, Christian J. Bollwage. Chairperson of Inroads Board of Directors, Jill Schafhauser presented each graduating student with a check to start their first bank accounts.

 During the ceremony, Inroads honored the Westfield, NJ Knights of Columbus #1711 who recently raised $6,000 for our programs.

Additional speeches and addresses came from Director of Vocational Services, Daniel Bagnato, Transition Counselors, Lisa Jamison and Linda Galaretta, Transition student, Marquis G., Director of Vocational Advocacy and Quality Assurance, Cyndy Walsh Rinztler as well as Inroads board member Janis Arrindell who spoke about what Inroads continues to mean for her daughter.
