We are seeking a motivated, relationship-driven Employment Specialist to support students and adults with disabilities through career exploration, job development, and successful community employment. This is a remote/hybrid role, with work taking place within designated school districts, community sites, and occasional in-office collaboration in Roselle, NJ.

What You’ll Do

Empower Individuals & Build Careers

  • Guide individuals through career exploration, interest assessments, and job matching.

  • Participate in intake meetings for individuals referred through DVR, Extended Employment, and Hybrid programs.

  • Develop individualized employment plans and provide ongoing coaching through job development activities.

  • Deliver engaging group and one-on-one instruction focused on job-seeking skills, workplace readiness, and employment preparation.

  • Provide all required Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) in alignment with WIOA, including:

  • Job exploration counseling

  • Work-based learning experiences (internships, job sampling, and Trial Work Experiences)

  • Postsecondary education counseling

  • Workplace readiness training

  • Self-advocacy and peer mentoring

Connect Talent to Opportunity

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with community employers to create meaningful employment, evaluation, and job-sampling opportunities.

  • Successfully place at least 20 individuals annually into competitive community employment.

  • Conduct job site analyses and document employment opportunities in participant records.

  • Provide on-site and follow-along job coaching to ensure long-term success and retention.

  • Coordinate Trial Work Experience sites and facilitate meetings with participants, families, employers, and DVR counselors.

Collaborate, Advocate & Represent

  • Promote Pre-ETS and vocational services to school districts, families, and community partners.

  • Collaborate with IEP teams, transition coordinators, DVRS counselors, educators, and community organizations.

  • Coordinate referrals for potentially eligible students under IDEA, Section 504, or documented disabilities.

  • Represent the program at networking events, conferences, industry forums, and community meetings.

Stay Organized & Compliant

  • Maintain accurate and timely case records, service notes, job logs, and compliance documentation.

  • Submit weekly job development updates and complete all monthly reports and billing documentation on time.

  • Meet productivity expectations, including 70% billable hours.

  • Maintain working knowledge of labor laws, public entitlements, and regulationsrelated to individuals with disabilities.

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with local DVR counselors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related human services field.

  • Valid New Jersey driver’s license and ability to travel to school, community, and employer sites as needed.

Compensation:

$23.36 - $25.00 per hour
