Employment Specialist

 

Responsibilities:
- Work with individuals with developmental disabilities to assess their skills, interests, and goals for employment

- Facilitates intake process
- Provide guidance and support in workforce development, including resume building, job search strategies, and interview preparation
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance job readiness and employment skills
- Conduct interviews to gather information about individuals' abilities, experiences, and preferences
- Collaborate with employers to identify job opportunities and negotiate employment terms for individuals with developmental disabilities
- Advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities by ensuring compliance with employment labor laws and promoting inclusive work environments
- Mentor individuals in developing effective communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and workplace etiquette

- Record participant case record activity and submit weekly

- Receive and maintain state required trainings

Skills:
- Knowledge and experience working with people with developmental disabilities
- Proficiency in workforce development strategies and practices
- Excellent interviewing skills to assess individuals' abilities and match them with suitable employment opportunities
- Ability to mentor individuals in developing essential workplace skills and fostering personal growth

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $19.94 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
