Inroads to Transition supports individuals between the ages of 16-21 who are still enrolled in their secondary school. Individual school systems utilize the Inroads program to personalize employment exploration for students. Staff will support students in the community by utilizing Inroads employer partners. Students are exposed to various employment settings through job shadowing internships and volunteer experiences. Once an employment goal is developed, experienced job developers look for a good employment match. Our job coaches then support the student through the hiring and training process. If needed, Inroads staff will support the student long term at the job site to make sure there is a successful transition to the competitive workforce.
Summer Transition Program
Inroads to Transition also provides a 6 week summer program for students just beginning their employment readiness journey. Our goal is to teach students about work opportunities through fun and interactive learning experiences. Students are taught the appropriate behaviors and performance expectations by sampling jobs in the community. Inroads challenges each student to pursue occupations that fit their skills interests and preferences.
